About BWG Lagos
Since 1960, BWG Lagos has brought women together through friendship, support, and meaningful charitable impact.
Who We Are
Since its inception in 1960, the British Women’s Group Lagos (BWG) has been a community built on friendship, support, and service. We help women settle into and navigate life in Lagos while creating lasting social and cultural connections.
Most of our members, or their partners, hold UK or Commonwealth Realm passports, although we also welcome a limited number of associate members from other countries.
BWG has a vibrant social calendar featuring monthly luncheons, coffee mornings, guest speaker events, charity visits, fundraisers, quarterly drinks evenings, and community clubs including craft club, book club, and Mahjong.

Giving back is at the heart of BWG Lagos. Through fundraising events, member support, and sponsor partnerships, BWG has helped underserved communities across Nigeria for more than six decades.

Originally from the UK and now a dual British-Norwegian citizen, Karen leads BWG Lagos with warmth, inclusivity, and a strong commitment to friendship, community, and giving back.
