Through regular charity visits and community outreach programmes, BWG Lagos works closely with schools, children’s homes, and local organisations to better understand the needs of vulnerable communities across Lagos. These visits help guide BWG’s fundraising and charitable initiatives, ensuring meaningful support reaches those who need it most.

BWG Lagos proudly participates in Small World, a long-standing annual charity event that brings together international and local communities in celebration of culture, friendship, and charitable giving across Nigeria. Through the British booth, traditionally organised and managed by BWG members and volunteers, the group helps raise funds for selected local charities while showcasing British hospitality, food, and community spirit alongside participating countries from around the world.

The Charity Christmas Bazaar is BWG Lagos’ main annual fundraising event, bringing together members, local vendors, families, and the wider community for a festive day of shopping, food, crafts, and charitable giving. Organised through the dedication and creativity of BWG volunteers, the bazaar features handmade decorations, home-baked treats, seasonal activities, and local artisan stalls, with proceeds supporting charitable initiatives and vulnerable communities across Lagos.

We have a very active craft group who meet every Thursday morning to create the amazing items we sell at our annual Charity Christmas Bazaar. Especially coveted are our BWG Christmas balls! Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level!

Members gather regularly for friendly Mahjong sessions filled with strategy, laughter, and meaningful social connections in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We meet every second Tuesday of the month for a relaxed coffee morning, typically hosted at a member's home. These casual gatherings run from 10am to 12pm, offering the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow members in a laid-back setting. Best of all, when held at a home, they're completely free!

Whether on Banana Island or around Eko Atlantic, active BWG members have opportunities to exercise and

socialise at the same time.

The Wine Book Club meets monthly at different restaurants. A book is chosen after every meeting and discussed in the following meeting. Choices cover a wide range of topics and genres. This is a great opportunity for those who love to read and socialise with like-minded people.
